The Solution: Retransfer Technology and Edge-to-Edge Printing
Since we use retransfer printing technology, the ink is not applied directly to the card. Instead, the design is printed onto a clear film, which is then thermally bonded to the card surface. This provides several layers of protection:
- Over-the-Edge Protection: The retransfer film covers the entire surface of the card, preventing the “fading edges” common in standard printers.
- Abrasion Resistance: The film acts as a wear-layer, protecting the QR code from physical friction (sliding in and out of wallets or card readers).
